Shannon’s Thoughts:

The Sweet Breath Of Knowing is written like poetry but it’s content is about spirit and knowledge.  It is especially about the connection of spirit and knowledge during the different times of my, or your life.

Author Theresa May Evie writes this book as a guide to the light and love within the human body.  Hoping to stir the goodness within that as an adult may have been lost.  So the book is written with good intentions for the people of earth.

Trying to create or write something that sends good vibes and feeling the spirit of love is all well and good and I give Ms. Evie credit for that.   The only thing is the way it is written is way over the top and difficult to understand.   This deeply thought out book that is spaced into 252 pages is actually half that and wastes a lot of paper.

Good intentions or not this book is not, in my opinion, worth the read.  There are just books out that are easier to understand then this about similar subjects.

Shannon's Review - Touchstones by Charlene Costanzo

Shannon’s Thoughts:

Touchstones is a compilation of short stories separated by twelve attributes ; strength, beauty, courage, compassion, hope, joy, talent, imagination, reverence, wisdom, love, and faith.

I look at Touchstones as a book similar to Chicken Soup For The Soul.  There are some hits and misses.  The stories are short, no more than two pages for each.

Many of the stories were just not that memorable.  As I think now after just finishing it I vaguely remember parts of the stories I like but that might be my jumbled brain fault.

I believe Touchstones is a wonderful group of stories, quotes and questions that will bring people together and bring oneself compassion.

Shannon's Review - Make Love To The Universe by Phoenix Desmond

Title: Make Love To The Universe
Series: N/A
Author: Phoenix Desmond
Genre: New Age, Non-Fiction
Publisher: Wolf Trail Press
Received: From Author For Review
Release Date: August 2007

My Thoughts:

The author travels through the Himalayas searching for Master babjai with nothing but themselves.  They have faith in the universe. Knowing that the universe will give what is needed whether it be a place to sleep or eat.

I remember seeing many reviews when I acquired this book.  They were all pretty negative and people said that the summary about the book was false.  I disagree, I think the book is exactly what it says to be.  With elements of Buddhism the two travelers feel if they send out there love to the universe it will give back the same if you truly believe it to happen.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would but my only complaint is I felt it ending abruptly.

The two travelers are so positive and so caring of others.  Something we need more of today not to mention we need to treat the world better.

What is it About?
An journalist finishes her assignment and takes some down time in old European tale where she learns of an old folk story from a local woman.

My Thoughts:

This story had me from beginning to end.  As the journalist struggles family and work she experiences a spiritual awaken where she learns a story of The Thirthteen Gifts.

I magical and inspiration and very short read.  One I want to read again and again just for comfort and/or hope.   There is so much the journalist learn in such a short time and from one local folk story.

Definitely not a book I want to part with any time soon.
