My Thoughts: Rue is half faerie and learning where she belongs in the world -- especially since it has been rocked by the affair her father had, which cost the return of her mother to the faerie world.

I am trying to remember what happened in this book. I mean, yeah, her friends and boyfriend are becoming sparse and the faerie king has plans for the non faerie world... Nothing seemed like it was new in the story, though. Nothing was resolved; nothing really changed in the end. I was left feeling meh.

My Thoughts: A little creepy at times because the main characters couldn't really trust any of the magical creatures or the people involved. Humorous at other times. I especially liked the breaking of the fourth wall. I am not sure if I liked it better than the orginal Spiderwick Chronicles or about the same. In all, it was a good short story and I will be reading the rest of the new series.

Summary:Rue Silver's mother is missing and her father is being blamed for another murder and possibly murdering her mother. Rue is beginning to realize she is not like everyone else. She sees things that others don't see and that maybe her mother was not as crazy as she use to think she was. Faerie blood is running through Rue's veins and things are about to get stranger.




My Thoughts: Of course I don't know if I have to say it but if you haven't been here before, I have a love of faeries. Reading about them is becoming more of a obsession. This graphic novel brings the faerie mythology to the modern world. Giving it a thrilling mixture of adventure. The art is very good. There are many things to see with the art, such as, hidden faeries or other mythological creatures in certain panels. It is fun to look for them. Combined the writing and the art work together work well. The only reason I don't give this five stars is because I think this is a great start of a story and has potential. I am very interested to see how it goes and how more of the mythology of faeries are used throughout.
