Shannon’s Thoughts:

Kate Connelly, a new mother and a  private investigator in training,  gets a mysterious case from a friend. This only being her 4th case and she is still learning with the help of an official P.I./ ex-cop.
As she looks for a killer she has to watch her step or she will be the next in a growing pile of bodies.

This series by author Diana Orgain is the first cozy mysteries I have ever read.  I did not even know cozy mysterious were exactly what they were called but yet cozy was what I immediately felt with them.  This is a book you just want to curl up with some tea or cocoa and read until there is no tomorrow.  The characters well defined.  I never get confused at who is who, like other mysteries I have read and I am always cheering for the good guys.

There is not much wrong with the series or this book.  One thing I was not happy about was that our apprentice in investigating reacted as if this were her first case and not 4th.  There were things I swear she had done in previous books but she seemed to have forgotten.

I love the series.  I hope it continues and I have found other mysteries written by Mrs. Orgain that I hope to get too soon.

Picture This - Nursing A Grudge by Diana Orgain

Do you ever have images stuck in your head from books you have read?  I do and since I am an artist as well as reader/writer I decided to use my talents to promote the books I am reading.

Today's Picture This is from a cozy mystery called Nursing A Grudge by Diana Orgain.
This image is my view of main character Kate Connelly picking a lock for the first time trying to gain info from another P.I.

What is it About?
The return of new mother and PI Kate gets pulled into another mystery.  This time she deal with French consulate.  Will the killer get away with diplomatic immunity?

My Thoughts:

I enjoyed the first two book in this series and did not enjoy this one any less.  I don’t read many mysteries but if I did I would probably stick with what I am told this is which is a cozy mystery.

From Kate’s to do list to her learning how to be a PI to her missing her baby’s important moments(Like christmas pictures!) I found the book an irresistible read and hard to put down. Although because I do like this series so much I stretched out the reading so I could have more of the book to enjoy.

I do have something that bugs me even after reading the book and finding out who did I still feel confused.  I don’t know if was just me but the end seemed to clustered into so much going on that there was no time to relish the fact that the murderer was caught.   Even now I can’t remember who did it.

I still enjoyed the book and will continue to read more by Mrs. Orgain because I will admit it I am hooked and I love the characters and think the stories are original to me.
