Happy New Year, Update, And Challenge!

Art by me, Shannon McGee.  Our Christmas card for 2013.

Happy Holidays and New Year Everyone!

Update

As you can see it has been a while since my last post.  Well, I needed a break.  You know how writers get writers block?  Readers sometimes get readers block.  For me that means I just can't read or retain what I am reading, so I had to disappear for a while.

I am now back...and I apologize to authors who have been waiting for reviews.  I absolutely plan on reading what have taken on.  In fact, there are some books I have read. (Most kid books) I just have to write up a reviews.

To authors who wanted to do contests... part of the reason I haven't done any more giveaways is that not many people want to participate in the giveaways.  I am trying to come up with something to raise participants and raise viewer ship in general. Although looking around the web I see that other bloggers are having less viewers everywhere.

Book Bloggers New Year Challenge!

This challenge was created by Rachel at Parajunkee.com!

Today is the first day of the challenge...and the first task is on blogger resolutions.

1. Be More Social.
I read all the comments and email. Sometimes I am at a lack of words at what to say. Visiting and commenting. I do visit other bloggers and love reading what other write but again I fight to come with something not generic. I also watch my twitter feed but I rarely speak.  Being social is also something I deal with in real life.  I just have to push myself more.

2. Read More.
This year was my worst record in reading books in three years.  I usually read 100 books a year.  I only read about 50.  Don't know how I will do it, but I will.

3. Be Unique.
I have moved away from most book blogging memes.  Not because I don't like them, but because they are not my most viewed pages.  I am trying to create other posts feature some elements of books.  I also need to find a way to get people who would like free books and sign in for a giveaway.

4. Be Trendier.
I realize looking back there are not many actual books I read that were published in 2013. I would like to read more books that are published in 2014.

That's all I have for today folks.  Happy New Year and see you tomorrow!

Being social is something I have issues with too! It's hard to be unique sometimes when commenting on a blog, those times I usually don't both commenting. Sometimes the post really triggers an idea/response from me so I type something ^__^

Happy New Year :)

Exactly, if it triggers something then I have something say.

Don't worry about trying to find something that will get you more page views. Find something that YOU love doing and when people stumble upon it, they will love it. :)
