Marilyn’s Thoughts:

About a driven young policewoman in an isolated Swedish town.  She is trying to solve the murder of an outcast loner found hanging in a tree on a plain not far from town. The body is bloody and mutilated.  This all occurs during the coldest February anyone can remember.

The story keeps your interest with many varied suspects and the police force each with their own stories.  The description of the weather throughout most of the story, actually has you feeling the cold while you are reading.  Sins from the past figure in this murder and other murders that follow.
