Booking Through Thursday - Do You Read Your Age?

btt button
Do you read books “meant” for other age groups? Adult books when you were a child; Young-Adult books now that you’re grown; Picture books just for kicks … You know … books not “meant” for you. Or do you pretty much stick to what’s written for people your age?

Well if you haven't been to this blog before I guess you wouldn't know the answer to that is Yes. and Yes...I really don't think children books are always for children.  I mean if you think about it an adult is writing usually a story he/she would have liked to read as a child or to read now so in someways they are for the children in all of us.

Reading materials are for anyone who would love to learn about the things in life. We may have missed some things when we were kids reading a child's book, but as adults we may find a deeper meaning to the stories in them.

I missed all the classics when I was younger, Jane Austen's books, Jane Eyre, etc. The last few years I read them, but mostly I like the adult books of today.

I generally read books that appeal to me, because of the story or characters. I might "cross over," but the characters I relate to the most are adults. But here's MY BTT2 POST

I like the idea of a child in all of us. It leads to a more balanced adult, I'm sure.

I like your answer as it appeals to the child in me too! Books are uniquely wonderful that way. They can transport you across the globe, and entertain you in your own, regardless of the intended age of the audience.

Great answer. I'm 20, but I love reading YA. But hey, I am YA so that was just irrelevant. XD

When I was in grade school I read young adult books alongside middle grade fiction. When I was in high school I read adult fiction alongside young adult. As an adult I do love my YA, but I also love adult fiction and nonfiction and manga.
