Refer A Book Weekend 3/20/09

Rules of Refer A Book Weekend: To play all you have to do is recommend a book that you liked and post in the comments. Tell me why you liked the book or link to your review. I will pick a recommendation, then add it to my TBR pile and the person who recommended the book will get to win a book from this Pile of Free Books that I reviewed.I usually post the Refer A Book Weekend post at 12pm EST after I am done work. Each week I will post a new post for you to comment in. The winner will not be picked until Monday so you have the weekend to recommend.

Hint: Recommend to me something mystical and/or paranormal.

I'd recommend Little Bee by Chris Cleave. It's very well written. It's sad and beautiful at the same time.

Mystical and/or paranormal, the first book that popped into my head is Boys Life by Robert McCammon. Its been around for quite awhile, I don't have a review of it, because I read it before I started doing reviews. It's multi-faceted, deals with some mystery, some mysticism, touches on racial relations in the '60's, and is a great coming-of-age story.

I loved loved both of Sarah Addison Allen's books Garden Secrets and The Sugar Queen. They are very good books with a magical fantasy touch that is to me very fun and totally loveable. She has a new one coming out 2009 or 10 wasn't too clear on the date.

Oh Chris, I really want to read Little Bee!

I enjoyed Second Glance by Jodi Picoult.

Um. How often can I play this game? Well - for my two cents - I go back to an oldie-but-goodie, YA book which is Lois Duncan's Down a Dark Hall.

I have a great paranormal romance that I just finished this month - my review is here. It is Marked By Passion by Kate Perry.
