Oh, Shannon - have I got a recommendation for you. In The Woods by Tana French. I just finished it this week (haven't posted my review yet - stay tuned). I LOVED it! It was a leeetle scary, but in a suspense way - not a Stephen King way. Not very gory (a couple true-crime-type scenarios), and EXTREMELY suspensful! I loved it! Obviously, if you pick this, I don't expect the free book - just pass it along to the next choice. :) Oh yea, and I found your buttons! I should have something for you by tomorrow! :)

So, I just read that one and - well, I didn't like it (the review's at my blog - insearchofgiants.com)
I would recommend People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks. It's a mystery in more of an academic way, in which the protagonist sets out to discover the origin of an illustrated Jewish holy text (sort of a paradox in Jewish faith, as they don't do the graven images thing). It sounds dull the way I'm explaining, but there are Nazis and romance and it's beautifully written.
I just finished "The Rules of Survival" by Nancy Werlin.
I thought this book was really good because it talks about child abuse and how these three children coped with it. It was really sad and kind of hard to read at the same time, not because it was a difficult reading level but the way the mother treated her kids was just horrible. I really recommend this book! It teaches you some lessons and it's a good read. Plus, I like how the whole book is a letter that is never given.
My favorite mystery writers are James Patterson, Stuart Wood and Robert B Parker - love Patterson's Alex Cross series so I'd highly recommend any of those.
I would have to recommend And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie - I just read it last fall and it was actually the first book by her I had read - my review is here.

I have to recommend "Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith - I LOVED this book, and it was a great mystery. I think the sequel comes out in May.
