Booking Through Thursday - What Inspires...?

Since “Inspiration” is (or should) the theme this week … what is your reading inspired by?

This question kinda stumped me at first I had to read a couple of answers before i came up with my own. I guess what inspires me right now to read is writing. I just bought books for research on a hopeful book I would like to write. This blog inspires me to read more then I ever have even though I have always been a reader. If really get down to it I my reading is inspired sometimes by competition. Yup that right I sometimes I read just to see how many books I can read or how fast I can read. Sometimes I am just inspired by the the feeling reading just gives me. It is exciting, thrilling and it a book. Just being a book to me means so much that I can't describe. If that makes any sense and you can't think of anything to post then just post in comments I got it or I didn't.

EDITED: I forgot other bloggers inspire me to read. With there post on there blogs and on Refer a Friday Posts. Oopsie. Sorry peoples.

I agree, of course. I also love reading. But I guess so does everyone who answers "Booking through Thursday" questions. :)

Being competitive can be a good thing, especially if it encourages you to read more!

Sure, I understand. It's interesting that you're reading in order to write; all writers should be avid readers. Happy BTT.

It is exciting to add more books to your "finished" list, isn't it?

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I think that's a great answer. Blogggers also inspire me to read. I go to their sites, read their wonderful reviews, and the next thing you know I'm off to get the book.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment.

I to read to compete against myself. The first book challenge I ever participated in was the 50 Book challenge and I plan to finish that one month early. I am trying to do 60 books for 2009. The list seems long but when you get lost in a good book, you feel bad when it is over.

I also forgot to add that other bloggers also influence what I read from time to time! Thanks for visiting my blog :)

Hi Shannon,

Thanks for visiting my BTT response.

Challenges are great for competitive readers, even when you're competing against yourself.

I like that you also review childrens books. I'm always on the lookout for good books for my eight year old. I'll add you to my sidebar. :)

Interesting answer and you make a good point about the competition part. I hadn't thought about that!

Happy Thursday!

i try not to finish a book too quickly. i want to savour the story. maybe that's just an excuse for being a slow reader :)

And sometimes I just want to finish the book so I can move on to another one.

Great answer. I'm very competitive as well and sometimes I have to struggle to stick to my priorities apart from doing what other bloggers are doing. It's hard! :-)
