Refer A Book Weekend!

I know I know I missed last Friday and this Friday. So I decided to have a Refer A Book Weekend... again. If you haven't played before what you do is leave a book recommendation in the comments. If you have reviewed it on your blog leave a link. If you don't have a blog just mention a little about what you liked from it. I will pick a book that is recommended and put in my TBR pile. That person who recommended will have a choice they can either pick a book from there own wishlist or pick a book from the Free Refer A Book Friday book pile (which are books that I have reviewed)

I hope everyone had a good holiday! Sorry I didn't post! I know I said I would take away the wishlist choice after the New Year but I am still not sure so this may or may not be the last time you can pick from your wishlist.

I am still reading the Faerie Door and hopefully before the 5th I will have a review. One of my New Year Resolutions is to start posting more so you will be seeing more of me.

Happy Reading Everyone!

I would love to recommend The Devouring by Simon Holt.

Trust me, a 3.8 stars is very very good, my goodreads average rating is 2.73...

I am recommending Eon: Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman. It's a young adult fantasy novel about a girl who dresses like a boy in order to enter the dragoneye competition. I thought it was wonderful!

Here's a link to my review: http://athomewithbooks.blogspot.com/2008/12/eon-dragoneye-reborn-by-by-alison.html

I'd like to recommend "Kira Kira" by Cynthia Kadohata. It's a sad book, but beautifully written. My review is here: http://alessandrasplace.blogspot.com/2008/12/book-review-kira-kira.html

Am I too late? This is the last chance to win a book from my own wish list, so please accept this entry. I've been obsessing over this one book for nearly half a year and I still haven't gotten to read it yet (The Emerald Tablet by P.J. Hoover).

I recommend Faerie Wars by Herbie Brennan because you seem to read a lot of faerie books... and this one takes the idea in a totally different direction. In the book, the Faerie World is a parallel world where faeries look pretty much like humans and magic mixes with an industrial civilization, but when they "translate" into the "Analogue" (Human) World, they are small and have wings. The story begins when a boy named Henry saves a faerie prince who has accidentally come through a portal to his friend's backyard. Then it gets interesting. This book mixes science fiction and fantasy, and it is one of my favorite books of all time. And it's the first book in a quartet! Next comes: The Purple Emperor, Ruler of the Realm, and Faerie Lord.
