Musing Monday - July 11th 2011 - Well Read

(Event Takes Place At Should Be Reading Blog)
This week’s musing asks… Do you think it makes you NOT (or less) “well-read” if there are certain genres that you won’t read because you KNOW you won’t enjoy them? Why?

I think with how many books I read it doesn't make me less well read if I don't read a certain genre.  It may make me less interesting if say I run into a person who reads just business books but just because I am less interesting or can't hold up a conversation with them does not me that I am not "well-read" in my opinion.

I think a person can be 'well read' in a certain field, but not in everything!

I think as long as a person doesn't profess to be well read in everything it's fine to know your limits. It's always better if you have at least tried 1-3 books in a genre before making a generalized statement about it.
