Refer A Book Weekend 8/19/09!
The book is based on a true story of a young boy from Malawi,at a time that people believed in magic and had little understanding of science. His area was withered by drought. William had read about windmills and dreamed of building one. William persisted...
And Thank you to Llehn who said...I would like to recommend The Noticer by Andy Andrews which blends fiction, allegory and inspiration with a dash of autobiography. A mysterious man named Jones shows up in Orange Beach, Alabama, a simple town populated with people with their share of problems: marriages teetering on the brink of divorce, young adults giving up on life, business people on the verge of bankruptcy. Jones brings about the gift of perspective into their lives, noticing things that others miss and imparting it to the town's people. It is inspiring how a different view on things can bring about such a dramatic change in lives.
Review can be found at:http://www.amazon.com/Noticer-Sometimes-person-little-perspective/dp/0785229213/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1250393550&sr=8-1
Both of the books seems inspirational I picked the Boy Who Harnessed the Wind over The Noticer because the Noticer sounded like a movie i had watched called Mumford. Which was an okay movie. So I decide for The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind because it sounded like nothing I had read before.

Since I recently found your site, I'm not sure if you have read this one yet...I recommend The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan.
Zombies! Or should I say Unconsecrated! But it's much more than that. Here is what Carrie Ryan says in an interview at Amazon..."I tend not to think of The Forest of Hands and Teeth as a "zombie book," but rather a book that happens to have zombies in it. The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which takes place generations after the apocalypse, is really about a girl struggling with growing up, desire, and a controlling society set against the backdrop of a world with zombies (called “Unconsecrated”) constantly pushing against the fences. The characters have already come to terms with the Return (the zombie apocalypse) and know nothing else: this is their world and they've accepted it."
The Forest of Hands and Teeth is one of the most intense YA novels I have read. I found it a gripping story. Careful--this book does not have a neat ending (something I don't mind--I will be waiting for the next book!). I stayed up all night until I had this one finished.
I am not much of a zombie fan or the horror genre anymore. I am not sure my nerves could take this one.
Congrats to number 7 who is Nely who said... This sounds great. Count me in.

That's the post at my blog I including my recommendation in. If you don't want to read through all that, this is it:
"Moving on... Refer a Book Weekend! She's looking for an ebook, but I don't really read those, so I can't really reccomend one. Sorry! Anyway... Hmm... I'd reccomend Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox, which is the most recent book in the Artemis Fowl series, and, in my opinion, the best one! If you haven't read the Artemis Fowl series, I'd start with the first one, though, called just Artemis Fowl."
Artemis Fowl is one of those book I have always been curious about and I like the new covers for the books. Thank for the recommend. I will email you soon.

Hi Shannon,
There's this really awesome e-book at Amazon called Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. On the surface it sounds like a typical girl meets boy book but once you read it it's so much more than that! It's about a girl who has a crush on a boy while the recepient of that crush is not thrilled and as the years go by, the boy starts to get interested in the girl while her interest in him is dying. It's a book about how innocent acts can be so grossly misinterpreted and how people are not always what they seem.

I have seen this book in the teen category it sounds like an interesting story maybe for next time.
