I recommend the new translation of Pippi Longstocking. It is illustrated by Lauren Child. And it is awesome :)

Hi Shannon!

I just found your blog yesterday and for my first recommendation I'd say The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It's very appropriate for the coming holiday.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to add a link to my comment. Thanks!

If you haven't pick up Eragon yet, you definitely should! The third book, Brisingr, has just been recently released so there's still time =D

Hi Shannon,
I recommend "In the Shadow of Lions" by Ginger Garrett. Wonderful story about Henry VIII an Anne Boyeln (a different Anne than the one you have read about in the past)...great read...awoke a desire in me to read more books based around this time period.

I would love to recommend Into the Wild by Sarah Beth Durst. It’s a retelling of a fairy-tale that is absolutely stupendous!

My recommendation is The Art Of Racing In The Rain by Garth Stein. An absolutley lovely book, so much more emotionally complex than I expected.
