Celebrate Everyday With Books - Epilepsy Day

Celebrate Every Day With Books

It seems like everyday has some new theme to celebrate so I thought it might be fun to see what kind of interesting books I can find (new, old, or coming soon) for an everyday holiday. In fact, most days have more than one holiday!

EPILEPSY DAY

“International Epilepsy Day is being observed today! It has been observed the second Monday in February since 2015..” (from checkiday.com)

Just so that you know I have not read most of these, but the ones I pick seem the most interesting and would like to read. You can probably find tons more books for each holiday but I am only going to pick two books for one holiday a day.

Let me know what you think. Do any of them seem interesting to you? Is there another book you think would be a better choice?

Title: Gotham Girl Interrupted by Alisa Kennedy Jones
Genre: Non-Fiction, Biography, Memoir
What It Is About?: “...A smart stand-up comedy about the power of falling down, Gotham Girl Interrupted is loaded with brash truths and laugh-out-loud moments about the epileptic age and culture in which we all live. It's also a dispatch from the frontlines of neurodiversity. Above all, it's about the battle for becoming who you are supposed to be and finding your tribe--no matter how much flopping around on the ground and wetting yourself you have to do to get there...” ( From Goodreads.com)

Title: Tinkers by Paul Harding
Genre: Fiction, Literature, Contemporary
What It Is About?: “An old man lies dying. As time collapses into memory, he travels deep into his past where he is reunited with his father and relives the wonder and pain of his impoverished New England youth. At once heartbreaking and life-affirming, Tinkers is an elegiac meditation on love, loss, and the fierce beauty of nature.” (from Goodreads.com)
